-------------------------- La Huella manages every stage of the process—from cultivation to the final cup—entirely in-house. Unlike conventional coffee supply chains that rely on numerous intermediaries, La Huella oversees every step directly. By cultivating coffee in the Boquete region, they ensure consistent freshness and quality; by handling cultivation, processing, and distribution themselves, they deliver the authentic essence of Panamanian specialty coffee. All of La Huella’s coffee originates from their own estate, located at the foot of the Barú Volcano in Panama—a region with one of the world’s most ideal climates for coffee cultivation. Because the beans are never blended with those from other producers or cooperatives, every offering is a "single-origin" coffee. Adhering to this single-origin philosophy allows the unique, vibrant flavor profiles characteristic of the Boquete region to shine. These flavors are shaped by the soil’s distinct composition, the local climate, the farm’s altitude, and the specific cultivation methods employed. Being single-origin also ensures full traceability, serving as a testament to both quality and sustainability. The story of La Huella and its connection to Panamanian coffee began in 2011. That year, Katarina and Pedro invested in a small coffee farm nestled on the picturesque slopes of the Barú Volcano—just above the town of Boquete—where they began growing a diverse range of coffee varieties in micro-lots and nano-lots. Thanks to the region’s ideal climatic conditions, combined with their own tireless dedication and expertise, they succeeded in producing high-quality coffee beans. Then, in 2020—amidst the global pandemic—Nika and Jernej joined Pedro and Katarina, establishing a base for La Huella within the European Union (EU).
