Elsa Benavides’s farm is located here. After gaining extensive experience working on other farms, Elsa purchased her own land in 2010. Building on her long-standing agricultural experience and deep knowledge of the local terrain, Elsa participated in a learning and training program offered by "PECA." This proved instrumental in dramatically and remarkably enhancing the quality of the coffee she produces. In 2018, she successfully sold a portion of her harvest at prices commanded by specialty coffee. This brightened the farm’s future prospects and enabled further operational improvements. These improvements encompass not only the upgrading of equipment and infrastructure but also a commitment to environmental stewardship and the enhancement of working conditions. Specifically, this includes ensuring that those who carry out the harvest receive a living wage, as well as providing employment opportunities for their family members.
